Alice Paul – Remembering Woman’s Suffrage

Why Woman’s Suffrage?

I know, I know I am not a woman, so why would I write about this? Well, I am taking a trip back to the US on Sunday and decided that I would go out partying last night. WOW, what a night! Stayed out until about 3am and had too many shots of tequila to count. Needless to say I didn’t do shit today, except relax on my couch and watch TV.

Since there isn’t too much TV here that isn’t in Spanish, I watched HBO. I started watching a movie called Iron Jawed Angels and couldn’t stop. I have always been a history person so I like to watch movies that are based on real facts. This movie was very good and I didn’t know how old it was until I checked out the web page on it. This movie also won the Golden Globe Award in 2005. I am surprised I have never seen it, to be honest.

Let the Past be the Past

I really couldn’t imagine living back in these days. I mean, how could anyone have ever thought that way about women? It sucks that so many people had to live this way and needed people to fight just for basic rights that all human beings should have.

For those of you interested check out the following sites for more information on the movie;

I have no energy today to do anything, but I thought I should pay some respects to those who helped make this.

    Nice job – it’s important to keep the memories alive of those who have done much for this world. Women’s suffrage, I can’t imagine either. The way people were treated differently, not all that long ago. Thanks for sharing this, I did not know Alice Paul.
