TrueCrypt – Free open-source Disk Encryption Software

On Sunday Dropbox Left User Accounts Open for 4 Hours, meaning if you knew ANY Dropbox user account you could login with ANY password. I’ve been a fan of Dropbox for a while and still use it’s service, so I thought I would help you learn how to encrypt your important data for free! Most people are under the impression that their information (data) is encrypted and that DB employees have no access, but there is an FTC complaint stating otherwise. I think it’s at least worth a read. I still want my free space, but why not just be smart about it?

Enter TrueCrypt

I have used TrueCrypt for a very long time and don’t plan on deleting my account over this, free space is free space! Before the “cloud” I would keep all my encrypted volumes on a couple external hard drives, but now I have them all over the place (Dropbox, SkyDrive and Amazon). I like to make photocopies of my important papers and store them into different encrypted volumes with different sizes. => Head over to TrueCrypt.org and download your free open-source disk encryption software.
