In Search of a Path for my Blog…

Where do I go

I decided that I need to take my blog into a certain direction. So I can be more focused on it, and continue on my learning process for writing.

The blog has not been up for very long and I have been testing ways to get visitors. I feel the best way now is to write meaningful articles that I have knowledge about, and hope that people enjoy the article and comment. What I have been doing is going to Google Trends and blogging about the hottest topic. While thing brings visitors to my site, it doesn’t allow for conversations. I think I want to have more people reading my site need information.

So from now on, please expect to see articles related to my work that should be very informative and hopefully helps someone out with a similar problem.

I also would like to offer that anyone can ask me a question and I will glad to help. If I don’t know the answer, I will research the problem for you and help you to find a solution.

Pura Vida! (Since I now live in Costa Rica)

I’ve had a pretty hard time myself trying to focus my site content. I don’t have a general theme so much as I just write about things I’m genuinely interested in. Perhaps that will work for you to.

    good luck!

    Jim,

I appreciate your straight-forward approach. I found your blog through Remarkablogger.

So, you are open to questions? Maybe post the types of topics about which you are passionate. That will help readers know the types of questions to ask. Nice start.

    Jim,

I think you have made a good decision to blog about things that you know about and hopefully are passionate about. That will give your blog a focus and something on which you can speak with authority. Good Luck.

Hi Jim, I agree with Dana and Valerie – definitely focus on your passions. And ask questions at the end of each post.

It takes a while to build traffic to your blog but it does give you time to practise blogging and find your feet. One thing I do a lot is to visit people in the comments section of a blog I like. It’s a great way to become involved in a blogging community. Also, it is worth joining some of the social networking sites such as StumbleUpon and Twitter.
