Monitoring Tsunamis and Earthquakes

Monitoring Tsunamis

Since I moved to Costa Rica I have been paying more attention to earthquakes, even ones that are not here. Early this morning an 8.8 magnitude earthquake hit Chile and now the US government has issued a tsunami warning to Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Antarctica.

Monitoring Tsunamis

I already wrote about monitoring earthquakes and now I will tell you where you can monitor tsunamis, which happen when an earthquakes center is in the ocean.

So if you heard there was an earthquake in the ocean and you want to know if a tsunami is on the way, just go here;

    My, oldest Son works at the U.S. Embassy in San Jose and my Wife and I were there at
    the end of Jan. for a week visiting. What’s your take on CR and it cities? Are your living there, staying for a while on a visa, or truly just “Relaxing”.

    Thanks,

      Hello Tim,

      I truly am relaxing, even though I still work every day. I am way more comfortable.. My take on Costa Rica, well I love it. I live in Heredia, not San Jose. San Jose is just like any other big city, there are great attractions and there is crime. Any smart person can stay away from the bad parts and enjoy their life here…

      Otherwise, everywhere else I have been has been great. The roads can suck and the traffic can too, but again that can happen anywhere. So the beauty outweighs the beast in my mind.

      How was your stay in January?
