Goodbye Visio
I am not an administrator of a big network anymore so I just don’t have the need for using Visio that often. In fact, I don’t even want it on my computer. If you are a subscriber of my blog, then you would know that I am trying to get back to basics with my blog and in reality, with my computer too.
I was recently working on a network audit job where I needed to explain the topology to the client. The way I would normally do this is with Visio, but I have not installed Visio on my machine and do not want to; So I decided to ask the answer machine, Google.
Hello Gliffy
I did a Google search for “visio online” and the first result, Gliffy. Look no further Google has the answer again for me. I guess I should just start using the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button.
Within 15 minutes I had a network diagram that was very easy for anyone to understand. I didn’t have to install any software plus it was FREE…
Who needs software anymore?
I am moving forward with trying to move all my activities to the cloud so I can use my 3G wireless and be connected on the beach in Costa Rica!
